Surflogic Australia Team Rider Profile Cronulla Local : Angus Linnegar

Growing up only a stone’s throw away from the shore breaks of Cronulla Beach in Sydney’s south, Angus Linnegar is making the most of this good fortune by getting in the water every chance he gets.

At just 15 years of age, Angus, has been competing locally in the highly competitive Elouera Boardriders Club where he took out the junior title at age 13 and recently, at 14 years of age, came an impressive 3rd place in the under 17’s.

In addition, Angus has also competed on a state level previously qualifying for both the NSW state championships and the Occy Grom Comp.

His dedication to his chosen sport has also been recognized by his peers at school. Angus has been selected as captain of the Cronulla High School targeted surfing program and he was chosen to compete this year in the under 19’s NSW State School Titles.

Angus has approached his surfing with a level of maturity that is demonstrated by his understanding that it takes a lot of hard work and commitment to realize improvement and develop his surfing to the next level.

With Connor O’Leary as his local friend and mentor, there is no better person to inspire this approach and show that dedication and diligence can bring results if you stay focused and determined.

Angus also looks to Mick Fanning for inspiration and motivation. Not only because of the epic surfer that Mick continues to be, but also, and even more so, because of the strength, resilience and dignity that Mick has shown throughout his journey both in and out of the water.

As Angus said “These two surfers have all the personal and professional

qualities I aspire to have as I become an adult”.

With these two great role models and his sights set firmly on the Junior Qualifying Series, Angus has a bright future ahead that we are excited to follow.

Surflogic Australia is stoked to welcome Angus to the team, and we look forward to supporting his surfing ambitions as he follows his dreams.

Go for it Angus!
